Meh.

Truth be told I am not feeling very creative. I am feeling tired and whiny and overwhelmed. The vacation was excellent and I had a great time. But I came home to a huge to-do list that seems to grow longer by the day. Argh! I'm getting my to-do list shorter at work but that's it. :(

On the other hand, my father-in-law gave me the most basic bread machine recipe I've ever met, and it actually works right, which is more than I can say for some of the box mixes I've met. I could learn to like the bread machine. Especially since my husband will clean it after it's run.

Neither of us likes to do dishes much, so not nearly as much gets cooked here as it might. There's so much TIME in food preparation and cleanup. Ugh!

Hi Laura, just catching up on your recent posts. Glad you had a good vacation. I'm off work this month and we're heading out on a road trip ourselves this weekend. Hope you're hanging in there. Just wanted to say Hi and that I'm thinking of you. Hugs, sweetie.

Hi Laura, glad you checked in. I've been mostly away from my computer. I read at your live journal that you were in the Albuquerque area - it is hot here in the summer. Seems like you've really had a lot of travel lately.
I use my bread machine to make a thin crust pizza dough. Using a recipe is better than the box mixes and less expensive too!
Take care - happy summer to you

Hi Laura! I went to Cornell college from 1998 to 2002. Were we on the Hilltop together?

Wendy - nope, you were there after I was. :)

Well, until he tossed that one at me, most of the bread-machine bread recipes I'd encountered required a ton of ingredients and fuss. It's really irritating to have to buy a half-gallon of milk (in order to get a cup or two) that you know you won't finish (and I have to have lactose-free milk, and no one locally sells it in less than a half-gallon). The first couple recipes I tried, also frankly sucked. So it was nice to be given one that didn't! :)

This year has been very travel-busy for me, especially when compared to my usual. Next weekend we go to GenCon. Labor Day weekend is a club reunion in Colorado. Later, in October, one weekend is my brother-in-law's wedding and another is homecoming at our college - and we're going, since it's our ten-year reunion year.
